This would probably require a lot of flapping. It’s very wonky as compared to the larger animals and resembles something that a butterfly would have. The red represents a simple outline of how I’ve been drawing my dragon’s wings. The green represents the common shape found in all these pictures. I didn’t think this through until I checked over the real life examples. The problem was that I made the middle phalanges too long. I thought it would be based on the maneuverable bat wing model but it really wasn’t working out. They feel ridiculous to draw on dragon or wyvern based creatures.

Of course, Pterosaur is all up to scientific interpretation, but this is the model I am going for.īasically, I thought about something during math today that made me think the dragon wings I draw right now are ridiculous. There are three kinds of wings I studied a bit to make this post: Fruit Bat, Bird of Prey, and Pterosaur.
